Let Me Say “I Love You” Through This Rhyme

For the first nine months I stayed inside you.

You didn’t mind the pain that you felt as I grew.

Until the day came as the world welcomed me anew,

Your tears dropped as you started a break through.

A lot of sacrifices you did as I started to live,

Assisting me in a lot of things since the day I was conceived.

You have a lot of plans for your child to achieve.

You did your best to provide me the best of life’s sieve.

You are my first teacher, who taught me to read,

I repeated each syllable as you patiently lead.

You are the first who taught me to create an art bead.

Your instruction about discipline, you guided me to heed.

Whenever I came home from school with a star,

You will excitedly greet me even from afar.

Whenever I’m sad because I could not play the guitar,

You will smile and say “Just sing while we are in the car”.

As I grow you taught me a lot of things about modesty,

And how to be a woman of beauty and of femininity;

You said in order for me to achieve life’s tranquility,

I need to stay grounded in God’s command for serenity.

This life won’t be happier without you being my mother.

We have a lot of things in common from one unto the other.

From being a fond of stories to being a chocolate lover,

up to checking out restaurants from one to another.

I can go over the list of our bonding time,

Still I will end up with as smile as to a chime.

For your love and kindness is truly my treasure sublime.

So let me say ‘thank you’ and ‘I love you’ through this little rhyme.

About Audrey

I am not a typical “girl-next-door”, But I am striving to be a woman of valor. I cannot turn the heads of many people, But I can touch their lives and still be humble. To please my Creator, that is my main goal, To let Him mold me, for me to fit in my role. My other wish is to have a pure soul, And to have a zealous heart like a burning coal. Strength and honor must be my clothing, Purity and honesty, for me is an important thing. To be a woman of principles, that’s what I’m preparing, To make God proud of me as I keep on dazzling. I may not be as perfect as what I want to be, A soldier in the battle that is what I can see. I’ll keep on fighting to solve life’s mystery, To win the battle is the best reward for me!

You sound like you have a good relationship with your mother. That is beautiful to see. Not many have that relationship any more. Thanks for sharing this heartwarming poem. 😀

Thank you so much for taking some time to post a comment. Yes, I do have a good relationship with my mother. She is my best friend. She gives wise counsel from doing the household chores to my dating life. I am grateful to God that He gave me a mother like her.
