Pain in the Rain

It has been days since the last time I uploaded an entry in this blog. It is not because of the dreaded ‘writers block’, rather, it is because of the weather. These torrential monsoon rains are probably the worst that this country ever experienced. More than a million people in and around the Philippine capital battled deadly floods. I had my share of pains from the flood but that is not even an iota compared to others.

Last Monday, I was one of the many people stranded in the Mall of Asia since all vans bound Southwards were either trapped in the heavy traffic caused by the flood. I ended up going home at almost 2am the following day. But that is nothing compared to the things that other people are experiencing. My heart goes out to the people who lost their loved ones, homes, and possessions because of the flood. Others need to leave their homes and stay in the crowded evacuation sites for days.

About Audrey

I am not a typical “girl-next-door”, But I am striving to be a woman of valor. I cannot turn the heads of many people, But I can touch their lives and still be humble. To please my Creator, that is my main goal, To let Him mold me, for me to fit in my role. My other wish is to have a pure soul, And to have a zealous heart like a burning coal. Strength and honor must be my clothing, Purity and honesty, for me is an important thing. To be a woman of principles, that’s what I’m preparing, To make God proud of me as I keep on dazzling. I may not be as perfect as what I want to be, A soldier in the battle that is what I can see. I’ll keep on fighting to solve life’s mystery, To win the battle is the best reward for me!

The people of the Republic of the Philippines have been in my prayers. Especially those affected by the recent floods. May they find strength, endurance and hope in the midst of the chaos, uncertainty and loss. O Lord, be their comfort, strength and provision during this their time of hardship and pain.
