Packing for Light Traveling

One of the things that I tried to learn over the years is how to travel light especially during out of town trips.

In my recent five-day trip to Cebu, I didn’t have the luxury of time to stare at my closet as I figure out my outfits for the trip. Hence, during lunch break in the office, I wrote down my outfit for each day (including accessories, shoes, watch, etc.) Then I just added two blouses just in case the need arises. I tried to choose staples that I can mix and match.

Hence, when I arrived home that night, it just took me thirty minutes to put those attire in my luggage.

As for my travel documents, medicine, toiletries, and grooming kit, I placed it into different mini bags.

The black Marithe et Francois Girbaud cloth envelope contains my ID, itinerary receipt and confirmation receipt for my hotel booking.

I always bring my Foica medicine kit just in case I would need to pop a pill during the trip.

The transparent kit is for my toiletries. The airport usually requires that liquid things will be placed in waterproof container like that.

The purple floral pouch contains my hand lotion, moisturizer, powder, and lip balm.

The pink pouch contains my shampoo, conditioner, body wash, facial wash, night moisturizer, etc.

I place my toiletries in small bottles and containers. I bought mine from Beabi and Muji then I labelled it using waterproof marker.

My kikay kit contains Happy Skin SS Cream, Happy Skin Hydrating Powder, Burt’s Bees Lip Balm, Brush applicator, and sunglasses.

All my clothes and things for the trip fit in this luggage which can be placed in the overhead bin.

I try to wear comfortable clothes whenever I travel. I also carry with me a scarf or a blazer just in case it gets cold.

How about you? What are your light-packing tips that you want to share?
